When I was 12 years old I had already had my initiation into sex on the convention grounds. It looks pretty similar to the sexual abuse you experienced on convention grounds Bob, but you missed out on the $300 of hush money and a 20 year prison term for the perpetrator.

Game played by the same book. Think of what I could have done with $300 when I was 12 years old.

“From our family’s point of view, the kid was trying to extort my dad,” Jacksch’s 17-year-old son, Elliot, said in a phone interview Wednesday. “It’s a case of he said she said. It’s my opinion that he’s innocent.”
Elliot Jacksch said his father pleaded guilty to skip the heavy financial burden legal expenses would put on his family.
“You tell me, who’s going to win in a child molestation case?” Elliot Jacksch asked.######### ##### Daddy is always right!

The coast guard, school system and the fellowship meetings (Truth) all failed!!!! I think it all failed back when Jesus chose His twelve disciples. One was a thief. And that's Telling The Truth. Thinking people picked up on that. Clearly a perfect way should be perfect. Jesus did nothing about it. That showed they were all the same, doesn't it?
You know, people who say they don't attend conventions because of a failed person are really admitting their own failures. It isn't what "he did" or "she said" but rather they find it a problem to sit through all that boring and confronting Gospel stuff.

Bert, do you think Jesus would have covered up for a sexual abuser of children? And encouraged people to esteem his disciples highly for their work's sake, and turned a blind eye while naïve trusting parents exposed their children to a man capable of ruining their children's lives? That's not the Jesus in my Bible Bert.

Well it doesn't mention child abuse. The telling story was the woman who committed adultery. Clearly Jesus did nothing about this, chosing instead to condemn those who were condemning her. In a Perfect Way Jesus would have cast the first stone?

Anyhow, been reading a review in "US TV Recap" I sometimes read these reviews to see what everyone is raving about - and what I am missing out onon www.digitalspy.com.au/ustv/s157/mad-men/recaps/a641558/mad-men-s7-episode-9-recap-was-new-business-the-worst-episode-ever.htmlDon's latest so-called connection with yet another conveniently placed woman who he's decided is his soulmate... Last week's strange, degrading alleyway sex – during which Dianna seemingly cornered into prostituting herself to Don... Don is probably overdue for someone telling him he's "an ageing, sloppy, selfish liar", but it also feels a little rich coming from Megan who knew exactly what she was getting into – she first slept with Don when he was with another woman, and knew about Dick Whitman from the start. ... shared her secrets with Don.- "Do you sleep like that?" "I'm vain." Don sleeps in the nude, let's get real. - Did they really waste their single allocated F-bomb of the season on Megan's "Where the rumpy pumpy is everything?" Weak. And how do YOU guys find this series?

In a Perfect Way Jesus would have cast the first stone? The sexual exploitation of children for personal gratification can hardly be compared with adultery, which is sex between consenting adults. The fact that you keep mentioning adultery to deflect attention from CSA tells me you have no real understanding of the gravity of CSA and its soul-destroying, life-threatening effects. The fact that Jesus didn't condemn the woman accused of adultery by hypocritical religious bullies, doesn't mean he wouldn't condemn the sexual exploitation of children.

Personally, I find more objectionable crud in what Bert writes about here than we EVER watch on t.v. And all this from a "professing man? Unbelieveable had I not read it straight from Bert. Very thankful to be free from him and his kind, elsewhere in life. It has been related to me that over such things his wife has left him, is that true, Bert? If I were still professing, I would be very ashamed of you, sir.

Is it true someone here has even sought to place shame on the U.S. Coast Guard because of this Alaska perp? Surely not!

Bert, watching TV isn't as bad as molesting a minor. I don't care how you want to portray it...everyone else does it. It is wrong. And this fellowship needs some guidelines on dealing with potential CSA threats from the ministry and saints in general. Any large group is going to have its share of problems. The thing is HOW DO you reduce the chances of incidents and ESPECIALLY repeat incidents. When these CSA stories leak out, we find out that there are numerous victims over years and decades. Australia seems to be behind the US in dealing with CSA. Bert, you have a wonderful privilege to make sure your country is on the right track in reporting CSA and keeping bad apples from doing more harm in the future.

It would be impossible to totally eradicate immoral behavior from any group. But guidelines can be put in place to lesson the problem and prevent multiple abuses. Some overseers aren't approachable and don't create an open climate where people feel safe to approach them without the fear of being excommunicated. Many friends feel that they can't be saved if they don't "take part". Overseers have labeled parents as "trouble makers" for going to them let alone the law. Some parents wouldn't want to be labeled as having a wrong spirit and thus in danger of a LOST ETERNITY. The culture has to change. And it starts with the leadership. Innocent children deserve a safe convention experience.

Geeze, really! I have a lot better things to do than to watch whatever it is that you seem to be watching!
Get out into the fresh air & take a walk, -read a book, -make a garden, -paint your house, -take up a new hobby, like painting,- even finger painting, as that nice healthy PBS TV channel states that is called, -"create"!

It seems to me that many exes didn't want to leave. There were heart-breaking realizations, a lot of soul-searching, and sometimes ex-communications. People who leave because of boredom or confrontational Gospel stuff...would they be likely to hang around a message board and blame workers for things? Wouldn't they move on with their lives as quickly as possible to be less bored or less troubled? In my experience, people who have left b/c of being disappointed by failures of other people have done a LOT of digging in their hearts and spent time in prayer and meetings and discussions searching out what they should do. And people who have left for other reasons like unwillingness or general bad experiences have not said they were leaving because of someone committing CSA--usually they are honest and say they just can't live that lifestyle or whatever...then if they later hear of CSA or some other big thing, they may feel some validation and relieved of worry and guilt.

There is a secular board under "general." Thanks for putting the review in italics so I could skip over it. Person A: [concerns about CSA and mis-handling of it] Bert: Yeah but you watch trashy tv. crickets: what the heck.

I blame a screwed up person for committing an act of CSA against a child in a group. When it happens multiple times by the SAME person, the GROUP and its leadership have to shoulder some blame, don't they?

ehum...
Bert, is this how you feel about convention, -that YOU find it is "boring and confronting Gospel stuff?"
Then you extrapolate that to how other people feel?
Otherwise why else would the thought even enter your mind?

And how do YOU guys find this series? I thought the first few seasons were interesting in their reflection of the times. As it morphed into more of a soap opera I lost interest.

It was also ignoring the OT law and its consequences, something that was said not to pass away like - It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. or Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven.Or as Paul said in Galatians, once you have faith you can ignore the law?

Molesting a minor is about as evil as you can get short of murder. Two adults laying together outside of marriage is bad but it isn't like an adult taking advantage of a child.
