Howdy again,
After thinking it over, I thought maybe I should start a separate thread about this. I have been contacted by email since I posted this on the thread concerning 'we have 2 admins now'.
I was asked to start a new thread so others would read it.
What I would like to see is how many of those who post and read here that are professing feel that this is important to them to see it dealt with openly by their overseers (abuse issues).
I would further appreciate that if anyone has a personal attack they wish to inflict on me to do so by email or PM and leave this thread open for the discussion and comments of this serious threat to the well being of the church.
Please do not post any names to this thread, but rather send them 'off board'.
Thanks,
Scott

Howdy,
In regards to (admins statement):
I don't believe Scott will mind me mentioning that he is one.
No I don't mind that being given out, and I will give the reasons for having access to those locked threads.
Everyone who reads on the TMB knows that I have been involved with issues concerning child abuse in the last several months.
There is information in the admin archives related to abuse, and I needed to be able to look up some information for individuals who have contacted me who have been abused.
I was not looking for names of abusers, as I obviously already had them from those contacting me.
There has been a lot of interest in particular regarding one abuser after a letter from one of those women he abused was posted on the TMB, and his response to that letter was also posted.
Since that time, there have been 6 other women volunteer information regarding how this senior worker abused them while they were children, and the different time span this took place.
Some of these women are still professing and some are not. The evidence concerning this individual from the personal testimonies of the various ones he molested show a pattern of abuse that spanned several years, including years where he assured other elder workers that he had changed his ways and no longer was abusing girls.
As more women become aware of this, they are coming forward with information concerning what happened to them at the hands of this worker in the past. These are women who now have children of their own, and are now concerned for the safety of their children, and are hoping that something will be done about the fact that this man is still in the work, although he has been relieved of his overseer duties.
If anyone reading this has information they wish to share concerning this, they can contact me at:

Your information will remain as confidential as possible. The information which I currently have has been provided to other senior workers who are requesting this information so as to make a decision on what to do about this. When requested, your name is kept from these workers, and the information shared is just that of the incidence(s) of abuse which occurred.
Information needed is in the form of:
On or about......
In the location of......
(name of abuser) did this......
Because of this what happened to me was.....
Also of interest is whether or not the abuse was reported to any authorities or to any workers at the time it happened, and the results of that report and how it was handled.
There have been whole families that have left the church because of this mans abuse of children, and others whose lives have been totally destroyed. We know of one attempted suicide, and several emotional issues as a result.
Child abuse is not something to be swept under the rug, and needs to be dealt with by the authorities whenever it is even suspected. An investigation by the authorities can lead to several results.
1. The perpetrator is arrested and tried for his crimes against a child (children)
2. The alleged perpetrator is cleared of wrongdoing and any rumors are put to rest.
3. The child is able to get the counseling needed to deal with the emotional damage inflicted upon them.
4. The perpetrator is able to receive the help they need, and is removed from (most) situations which puts children at risk.
The above are only some of the positive results of an investigation by the authorities.
The negative results of no investigation taking place far outweigh the positive.
There is currently another issue of abuse that has been reported to have happened, and that worker has been sent home. I do not have all the information concerning that individual, but I know that the abuse appears to have happened in at least two of the states nearby. I understand a letter has been sent to some of those in the field where he was assigned, and can only assume that the overseer there is contacting all those whose children might have come in contact with this individual.
Again feel free to contact me with information, and I will see that it is reported to the appropriate individuals, including law enforcement. I am under the assumption that the overseer has already contacted the authorities as required by law in both of the states this happened in, as otherwise they themselves could be facing an investigation concerning failure to follow the lawful procedures in reporting alleged child abuse.
