There was a reunion of several of the Goff family on July 5, including Al, who came to Northern Virginia from his field near Raleigh, NC, and Clinton, who was already in Virginia. I was aware of some reports regarding Al's health, which I shared with them, and decided to respond. Al has been on dialysis for a year or two. While that keeps him close, he otherwise continues as usual.

They have a brother in Maryland, don't they? I cannot think of his name, but he always referred to himself as the Black Sheep Goff! He was a joy to be around!

Yes, Roland was at our reunion. Clinton repeated a childhood story about Roland climbing a mulberry tree that he wasn't supposed to climb, going out further and further on the limb, until the limb broke - and so did his arm. Roland chimed in, 'The mulberries were sure good."
