Ronhall ~ just want you to know that you're also in my prayers and thoughts tonight. I know only too well what you mean about enjoying good health until recently in your late 60's when things took a sudden downhill twist. I had a similar experience in the last couple years in my early 60's, so I can truly sympathize with your ordeal. Also, glad to hear that dialysis is working for you these days and you're starting a new regimen that may extend your life span more into the future. It's also encouraging to hear you keep faith alive in your heart and your sense of humor is still intact. Both are priceless possessions when the going gets rough and you have to shift gears a lot to keep on the journey of life. Take care of yourself and may God's best be yours each and every day of your allotted time here on earth! Special thanks to all who have remembered me in their prayers. One never knows all the effort that goes on in the background in ones behalf. The latest for me is that I have responded exceptionally well to dialysis -- in essence it has given me my life back to a great extent. I was referred to an oncologist in Seattle who has been very successful in treating cases like mine. I was able to quite easily drive the hour and a half for my first appointment and back. His analysis led to a recommendation to administer low, frequent doses of chemotherapy on a weekly basis that he has had continuing success with -- rather than the normal monthly heavy doses usually administered. This does require another major commitment, in addition to the three four sessions of dialysis per week I am now doing, that also involves a commute to Seattle on a weekly basis. There is a distinct possibility that if I respond positively over a month or two, my local oncologist will be willing to treat in this manner locally. So treatments will commence in Seattle in a week. As always I am at peace with everything and am entirely willing to do whatever is the best for my situation and leave the rest to the Lord. I look at my life as having been and still being blessed by God in every way. While the past year and a half have been over a bumpy road that I would not have taken, given a choice, it has brought me where I am today experiencing the love and kindness of many friends, many professing and some not, as well as workers who have written and dropped in to visit. I am truly unworthy of such loving attention, but it is being given on a continuing basis. Two elders from another part of the state came to visit me on a recent Saturday afternoon and told me I was an inspiration to them. I don't understand how this would be possible, but I am beginning to understand a little about the love of God expressed through His people. It's a wonderful experience. Too good to miss! And just think, had I been able to choose the road my life might have taken it is certain I would have missed this outpouring of God's love. Now the question I need to explore is, what would the Lord be pleased for me to do with the additional borrowed time that has been given to me?

A wonderful, encouraging post, ronhall. It's good to hear that you have strength for "normal life" along with your medical treatments.

Ronhall ~ I'm glad to see such a positive attitude and proactive stance in your treatment regiment. I'm happy to hear of the positive results you are experiencing both from the dialysis and recognition of the love of God being shown through His people during such an ordeal. Both are a real blessing in disguise, I must agree.

There is not one doubt in my mind that I am alive this very day because of the prayers of others, from this board to the thousands of others at Katie's church, even though I am not an enrolled member in and of that Methodist group. They have been told of my 2&2 worker ministry only back ground, and why I will gladly worship with them, teach among them with their two minister's support and approval, yet refrain from joining ANY divisive denominational mind set. I love them as I do those of 2&2ism even yet. I pray for others who I know are in need by name as often as I can remember to do so.
I believe as I do simply because of my life experiences and attempt to exclude NONE from the gift of grace that surrounds me in every time of trial and need. All honor and glory belong to the God I worship. He is my absolute. Many, perhaps everyone I know atheists agnostics believers of all sorts, are far better people than myself. I am simply one of many who know they, themselves, to be in need of a Savior. Such people are simply my brothers and sisters in that certainty and belief. None, except those who exclude themselves are outside the encompassing belief that now assures me of the value of brotherly and sisterly love I have come to learn and know originates from my Lord and God. Thus in my prayers day, and as now, night.
Just my unshakeable belief about God an human interaction with Him!

I have debated for several days about submitting my prayer requests, and the answers that I have received. I TRUST Faune to evaluate my prayer request, and that she will be able to support what it is that I have to say. AND that she will be able to interpret my message, that is if I get off center............. Some of you know me well, some of you have been on one board or another since 2009, and some of you know that I struggled horribly for several years with my family of origin. My "elder" brother and his wife are continuing on in the Friends way..... However back in 2009, my brother's wife choose to eliminate me on her own from the meetings... Actually I was ready to go, she just kicked the process into gear, by taking the "Wine" cup away from me in a Sunday AM meeting...She NEVER admitted this to anyone as far as I know. BUT it was crystal clear that she did not want my inclusion in the fellowship, regardless of the reasons.
Since that time I have been praying and praying that the Lord would send His mercy to both of them, that he would send "something" so that both of them would become familiar with the sacrifice of Jesus, and know about the TRUE sacrifice of Jesus for our sins. AND actually in a round about way He has done that. My brother's son in law, took his children back from my sister in law,(their Grandmother) and has secured them into a Christian church, and church that speaks the real TRUTH about Jesus. Those children are now 8 and 6.
I just wanted to THANK the Holy Spirit for the intervention that occurred, the intervention that has ultimately saved those little children.. I just wanted to THANK the Holy Spirit also for saving my niece and her husband. I have been told that they attend church services, Bible studies, and church activities in their new Christian church. The kids attend routine Sunday school, and summer camp, and my niece and her husband would like to be involved in a Mission for that particular church, in the future. AND despite the fact that my niece was born and raised in the 2x2's she has followed her husband to a REAL church. THIS must have been very very hard for her...SHE DEARLY loves her Dad (my brother) and I am positive that this action has hurt both my brother and his spouse..... However, in my mind, the Lord has a plan, and I just want to say that I need more prayer that my brother and his spouse would find out the real "truth" behind the 2x2's. Maybe if I request some more prayer's that would help............... THANKS to each and every one of you, that might pray for my family of origin.
Just wanted to share all of this with those of you, that I value highly, and those of you that know the real truth.... THANKS in advance for help with this prayer request.
What has happened is now, my sibling and his wife have found that their family, (including me) have fallen away from that cult, they are standing out there alone, as it were, enmeshed into the twisted Gospel of the workers. IT would seem to me that they should be questioning, just why all of their family have abandoned that cult. Could each of you just give them a little prayer??? That would be very helpful, and THANK TO EACH AND EVERY ONE of you............. all my love theolegranni

How about this thread to be used to ask for prayer. I ask that this isnt a thread to be debated as to whether you believe in public prayer or not. As most of you older posters know my daughter suffered a Brain Aneurysm in March 2009. It was her carotoid artery. We began to pray for her here and also my church and many friends for that very serious situation the situation. My son and daughter in law fasted during that time that she would be ok. Everything that they said would go wrong didnt. I believe God answered our prayers. My daughter has now been married for a yr to a man that never left her bedside through all of this. She is also trying to have a child. God has greatly blessed us. Praise God ken

Thanks alan for the encouragement.
Here's a piece on prayer by Greg Laurie that I appreciated:
And He said, "Let Me go, for the day breaks." But he said, "I will not let You go unless You bless me!" - Genesis 32:26
Never underestimate the power of prayer. When you are praying according to God's will, your prayer is unstoppable. And how do we know what God's will is? By careful study of Scripture.
Jesus made this promise: "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you" (John 15:7).
We gravitate immediately toward the latter part of that verse: Ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. We love that, as though God were some sort of genie. But that isn't the case. We tend to forget about the first part of this verse: If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you . . . If we are walking in fellowship with God and studying the Word of God, then we will start praying according to the will of God. And then we will start seeing our prayers answered.
First John 5:14–15 says, "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
Therefore, we should never give up or back down. We need to keep praying. That is why Jesus said, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7). In the original language there is an ascending intensity to the terms. It is like starting off with some politeness. Then you get more aggressive. And then you are not letting go, like Jacob, who wrestled with the Lord and refused to let go until He blessed him.

Thanks for your encouragement for this Request thread, magpie.
I'm hoping that it gets used some more.
You remind us too, that we should pray expecting answers. And we can express our thanks publicly here for prayers answered (important also).
Ps 96:3 Tell all the nations how wonderful he is! Tell people everywhere about the amazing things he does.
In meeting, there was little encouragement to pray for natural things, almost as if God shouldn't be bothered with all the natural problems we face. WRONG, he wants us to learn to depend on him for everything, nothing is too small for such a loving heavenly father.
I'm sure you are remembered often in our prayers too magpie. Blessings, admin

There are so many needs, with so many to remember to pray for, plus offer thankfulness for what has already been received.
Perhaps others have found a way to remember such things that I have not. Once I found I could remember people quite well by their names and faces. That is denied me in this forum. Since I am limited by my own brain power to that which I can remember, that continues to fail, what am I to do in this matter? Many church fellowships use prayer lists, and known needs.
As I "fail" on my way to as many years past 70 as I am allowed, by reason of health, strength, energy, and whatever determines such factors, I am seeking to learn how others deal with a breaking golden cord, incense bowl, along with darkening windows, ceasing grinding sounds, as evil days arrive, surely bringing words "I have no pleasure in them." (Except for the gift of everlasting life, life without end with new awareness, beyond the grave.)
For me this is a quandary to which I seek concepts.
It is no wonder to me that young people were advised to seek God in the days of their youth, before such "evil" days came upon them. 12489

Through life I will usually pray the prayer do the warfare if necessary and then stand on the prayer. You know that scripture "having done all stand". Standing without wavering. Im going through a faith thing at the moment. I dont allow any room for doubt in my mind. I cant. I have to stand firm in my trust he will see me through it.. Jesus doesnt condemn us either. I think sometimes we condemn ourselves. That isnt love though is it.

Some of you have pm'd or emailed me of prayers and best wishes for one more recovery. Nearly drowning in my own fluids, medication changes are helping drastically, and I've lost 16 of the rapidly gained 40 pounds, so just wanted to share this news with you along with my thankfulness for such grace mercy and kindness on my behalf. Home now, Katie also, for which I am very thankful. A bit more energy, glad summer is just around the corner, even if still outside the door.
Thank you, Lord, for friends I've never met, thank you friends.
In appreciation of any and all Grace and Mercy, and kindness, extended from any source,
DJ

That old song says that it's me, it's me our Lord standing in the need of prayer, not my sister, not my brother, but me O' Lord, standing in the need of prayer. We are all standing in the need of prayer because prayer is a mighty source of power. Jesus, our example, had prayed on numerous occasions as recorded in the scriptures; He even prayed for us, future generations, before any of us were born. Yes, I offer prayers for others too, we should never ever be selfish in our prayers. I thank all those who pray for me and would encourage offering prayers for one another. Jesus has set the example for us to follow. May God continue to bless each and everyone of us. Amen

Jesus is our burden bearer our deliverer in times of trouble. When I am desperate I worship and focus and stand on the prayers I have prayed. I join with you Dennis and agree that what you have asked for will be given to you. The holy spirit just quickened this scripture for you. Luke 6 :38 " Give and it will be given to you, good measure pressed down shaken together and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again".

Jerrod is going around like a zombie until he finds a child crying. Then he gathers them up and cries with them. It isn't long until all 5 are in his arms. Thank goodness he's a large man.

Hope that God will extend His mercies to the famliy.
