my stance, if it's not clear in the debate, is that our understanding of who Jesus was grew over time. SW's stance is that all NT writers shared an equal understanding from the very beginning. We are somewhat polarized: he believes Matthew and John were both written by apostles who were sitting at the feet of Jesus for three years learning the identically same things, whereas I believe both were written much later by people who had never known Jesus in the flesh and were trying to make sense of it all however they could. uh-oh, here comes that e-noodle, i gotta run.

not clear in debate, is that our understanding of who Jesus was grew over time. what do YOU mean This line got me thinking, has my understanding grown , too, in the 40 years since, first becoming aware of Jesus in a dream, and then hearing about him in gospel meetings. I remember the first symbolism that made an impression on me as a lad, was the hymn, ''Jesus is passing this way, today........'' ya, i could feel him , I didn't need no theologians telling me who he was or wasn't, he came to this earth to save me and others, I could tell who God was , too, without hearing about theology-- maybe I was wired different than others, but , I like to know things directly from the horses mouth, and then I know what is what, I think I would have enjoyed living in Rome in its heyday of persecution , I find that my sanity is far more important than living a belief of lies.

This cafe is going downhill. The debaters keep leaving their debating room, entering the main cafe, and try to persuade others to engage in their debate. It's like watching a movie in the year 3016; the actors don't stay on the screen. The bad thing about it is some of the patrons of the cafe get distracted from their pleasure of eating, drinking, smoking, and being merry. If the patrons are distracted, they are not buying scones, special brownies, sipping tea. This will not work.
Where's that bouncer?

I must apologize for my tardyness in replying. I'm working on it bit by bit. I should have it up by tomorrow.
