I saw this blog post yesterday: www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/08/10/black.church.women.single/index.htmlDevout women don't want to marry outside the church and become "unequally yoked", and a blogger has claimed that the church is keeping them single. I don't agree with the blogger who says that the women need to skip church and go to the bars and the sports fields to find men. But I've often wondered why I see so many more women than men in Christian churches, including at meetings and conventions. This seems to be a common phenomenon in religious communities that have tight-knit social networks. Why do the men leave and women stay?

Maybe because of conditioning since they were young and down through the centuries? Women find submission 'normal' whereas men have been taught not to submit, but be the leader?

I have read a lot of opinions of this subject. Do a quick google search on the feminization of the church or check out church for men for starters.

I have a number of female friends who are christian and single and not young. One reason is being equally yoked. My arguement is you can be yoked to the wrong person and they are christian. Perfection?? Not sure or just not found the right man.

"Mama keeps the Bible read and Daddy keeps the family fed. " Yea Nitty Gritty!!! Saw them a couple of months ago again. They are the best!! However, I did notice something. They got old and so did their fans. Still, they have a young following too and they are still awesome!

Men tend to be very logical and this presents a problem. Logic and faith are on opposite ends of the spectrum...at least in my opinion. Increased logic...decreased faith. Women on the other hand tend to be considerably more faithful (not saying they aren't logical SG). This is something I have observed in other churches as well.

When my aunt and uncle were having a jocular debate about 30 years ago over the reason there were more professing women in the meetings, my aunt maintained it was because women were smarter. Her husband retorted that they were just more gullible. Take your pick!

Are there more women than men because in paradise we receive 70 wives each.
Or am I a little confused here?

SG.s quote "But I've often wondered why I see so many more women than men in Christian churches, including at meetings and conventions."
IMHO it is very simply because women can relate better to the Bridegroom and love Him.

Don't mean to sound sexist, but I think women are better at religion than men. That's sort of what I was thinking: Women are more open about loving. Women are better at intimacy (not the sexual kind). Women are into spiritual applications; men tend toward practical. Yet an exclusively female church would be a disaster, IMO.

Poor Solomon . How many wives did he have? 500? On a serious note I believe women tend to be more spiritual and often are the spiritual influence of the family.

When Joseph and Jesus were working in their carpentry shop they had to find some place to store their tools. It was Mary's job to keep their spirit level!

You are being way too political...Women are just a bunch of catty b_tches and you know it. Women are more open and loving....with other men..... Women are better at faking intimacy... Women are better at spiritual applications....when it serves them... Women can be just at practical as men, if not more.....especially when it suits them...........-bop

Poor Solomon . How many wives did he have? 500? . Sounds exhausting! There's no way you could keep up. He would have to hire a bunch of men to keep all those wives happy...

If you were Roman about like the workers and were watching a stranger ask a paid minister about the true way, would you not say Damascus? Haifa notion you would! Mind you, if you were a Roman, you would "sent your ane" soldiers to find oot!
